RiverStone Group, Inc.

History

RiverStone Group, Inc., formerly known as Moline Consumers Company, was formed in Moline, Illinois in 1917 by the merger of the Moline Channel Ice Company and the Moline Sand Company.  In its early years, the company had a wide variety of business units – from selling ice cut from the Mississippi River to operating a coal mine.

Over the years, Moline Consumers sold off these other businesses and focused on construction aggregates as its core business.  Both by acquisition and by "greenfield" development, the company grew to its present size - directly operating 12 sites in Illinois and Iowa with additional quarry operations in Illinois and Missouri through several subsidiaries.  RiverStone also operates a Building Materials division in the Quad Cities market.

Privately owned and operated by the 3rd generation of one of the founding families, RiverStone is proud of its heritage and is committed to continued growth and excellence into the 21st century.
